I like the idea of a Blog-off to be the next Oilers blogger.

Good first entry. Personally, I like Gagner as the Captain for many of the reasons mentioned. His loyalty and heart despite constantly trade rumors are the biggest reasons for me.

No offense, but anyone suggesting that Yakapov (who I love btw) could be a candidate for captain, is simply not credible.

I personally don't care too much about the letter. Good leaders lead regardless.

The problem we are at right now is I don't know if a Hall or Eberle are quite ready and they seem to be the future. So do you go with a place holder in Smid or Ference, or just go with no captain for the year and assign 3 A's?

I don't think Gagner gets it. He might be more ready for it, but I just think Hall is the eventual captain and giving it to Gagner wouldn't make all that much sense.

In addition to new writers, you also need some refs for this forum

The only reason I added Yakupov is because he has so much heart. I agree he has a .00000000001 chance of getting the C, but I just couldn't not mention him.

Good thing you led with no offense otherwise the blogger might have been offended by your mention of his lack of credibility.

No offense, but your post was stupid!

See how that works?

If this is a blog-off would it be possible to get a blogger who uses spell-check? F7. It is disjointing when reading a paragraph and you stumble upon "definatly", "caaptain", personnally", etc. Just some constructive criticism.

Would also be nice that a person who wants to be paid to write, actually knew how to spell in the first place without a spell checker. Obviously we know that to blog you don't have to show any credentials displaying knowledge of the game of hockey, but a certificate that at least a 75% average was achieved in some sort of basic English composition course would be nice. Aside from that, not a bad blog idea and no trolling of other teams.

Absolutely right. Just remind me exactly when our society (which used to place such high importance on literacy) stopped giving a (frank) and said, "hey it is okay to make simple spelling errors, as long as people get the gist of what you are saying"????

Yakopov? Really?
Do you really want your Captain sliding down the ice after a goal

The Captain should be someone a little more mature leading on and off the ice.
